FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Who recognises this credential?

The EX Institute is an editorially-independent professional body. Its credentials are recognised by employers, consultancies and clients on the strength of the standard the Institute holds and the quality of the practitioners who carry it. The register is public; verification is one click.

Do I have to use pindrop?

Most candidates demonstrate practice on pindrop, which is the platform the Institute currently recognises for capstone evidence. The credential itself is platform-independent; future cohorts may demonstrate practice on additional supported platforms.

Is the EX Institute the same as pindrop?

No. The Institute is editorially independent. It publishes the Body of Knowledge, sets the standards and runs the accreditation. pindrop is one of the providers whose work aligns to the Institute's BoK.

Can I skip a tier?

You can apply directly to the tier whose entry criteria you meet. Most candidates with three or more years of practice apply directly to CEXP. AEXP is not a prerequisite for CEXP, though it is the natural entry point for those new to the discipline.

What if I fail?

Capstones may be referred — meaning specific aspects need rework before re-submission. There is no fail-and-out at first attempt. Examiners write developmental feedback. A second referral leads to a structured remediation plan with the Faculty.

How long is a credential current for?

Three years from award. Recertification is by continuing-practice evidence at AEXP, continuing-practice plus continuing-education at CEXP, and continuing thought-leadership and mentoring at MEXP.

Can my employer pay?

Yes. Many candidates' fees are met by their employer. We can provide an information pack and an invoice on request.

Refunds?

Application fees are non-refundable. Pathway fees are refundable in part within the first four weeks of enrolment, less an administrative charge. Detail in the candidate handbook.
